The My SQL Yum repository for Oracle Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Cent OS provides RPM packages for installing the My SQL server, client, My SQL Workbench, My SQL Utilities, My SQL Router, My SQL Shell, Connector/ODBC, Connector/Python and so on (not all packages are available for all the distributions; see Installing Additional My SQL Products and Components with Yum for details).
Package Manager is software which allows a user in case of installation of new software, up-gradation of system, or updating any specific software and such sorts of things.

Refer to Section A.2.2, “Installing and Upgrading” for details on how to manage changes to configuration files across package upgrades.
Keep in mind, even though PHP 5.3.3 was released July 22, 2010, the official Cent OS 6 PHP package was updated November 24, 2013. To add it as a yum repository, follow the site's instructions.
