Questions to ask someone dating

Would you rather leave your hometown and never be able to return again, or stay in your hometown but never be able to leave? If you had to rename yourself, what name would you choose?

If you had a time machine, would you go back in time or visit the future? What's the most spontaneous thing you've ever done? If you go to a restaurant and have terrible service, is it ever OK not to tip? If you could only hear one song for the rest of your life, what would it be? What is the worst lie you've ever told your parents? If any actor or actress could play you in a movie, who would it be?

If you had to give me a nickname right now on the spot, what would it be? Do you think it’s possible that we met in a previous life?

It would save a lot of headaches and heartache, wouldn't it? This kind of "first impression" information is very helpful as you think about who you will or won't consider dating. Not exactly the kind of people you want to trust with your self-image or your reputation. Are you headed in the same general direction in life? Through therapy, we learned to ask each other better questions. When you're trying to get to know someone new, you can only text "what's up" so many times. If you didn’t have to worry about money or a job, where would you live in the world? What was the last book that you got so absorbed in that you couldn’t put it down? You only get 3 words to describe yourself – what are they? Which is better to listen to – your heart or your brain?
