She is known from movies like “While the city sleeps” (1928), “The Broadway Melody” (1929) and “The Big Cage” (1993).
In 1996 when she was 86 years old, she graced the screen one last time in “Sunset after dark”.
Bette worked hard her whole life and she never really stopped working.
She is still considered one of the best actresses ever. Her grave stone have the inscription “She did it the hard way”.
